What is this job all about?
The Teacher position at The Arc is unlike any other! We provide our students with a specialized course load for optimal success. You will have the opportunity to assist students as they go far beyond what they ever imagined what they could do scholastically.
That’s nice, but what will I actually be doing?
In this role, behavior intervention and communication are key elements. The teacher is responsible for the planning, organizing, and implementing individualized instructional program that guides and encourages students to develop language and academic skills. The teacher is responsible for the day to day implementation, monitoring, and data tracking of circle time, social skill lessons, independent play, activities schedules, self-help skills, motor lab, developing and running individual and group lessons. Also responsible for updating student curriculum, supervising teacher assistants, and communicating with Behavior Analysts and parents on the progress of students.
